Cologne - Trier - Mainz - Regensburg - Nuremberg

Day 1: Cologne - Xanten
Visit of  Xanten, the town at Lower Rhine. You will visit the Archaelogical Parc and the Regional Museum. Dinner and overnight stay at/in the surrounding of Cologne.

Day 2: Cologne
In the morning visit of Roman-Germanic Museum. The museum shows the archaelogical heir of the town and the surrounding from Prehistory to early Middle Ages. In the afternoon a city guide will show the town. Dinner and overnight stay at/in the surrounding of Cologne.

Day 3: Cologne- Maria Laach - Trier
After breakfast you will leave Cologne and drive to Trier. In between you will stop at Maria Laach. You will see the volcanic craters of the Eifel, will make a short walk and gaze at Roman villas.

Day 4: Trier
After breakfast you will start a guided city tour through Trier, the oldest city of Germany. Visit the impressing credentials of Roman architecture, like e. g. Porta Nigra. In the afternoon you will visit a wine-growing estate where you can sample wines. Dinner and overnight stay at Trier.

Day 5: Trier - Mosel - Mainz
After breakfast you will leave Trier and go to Mainz. In the afternoon a city guide will show you the beautiful town. Dinner and overnight stay in a hotel at Mainz.

Day 6: Mainz - Taunus mountains
Travel to the Taunus mountains. Where previously the Romans guarded the Limes, today there is the museum of Saalburg (castle). In the surrounding of Bad Homburg nearly 2000 years ago the reconstructed army camp housed troops, stables, administration and storage buildings as well as a bath house and guest houses. Use the occasion to make a walk in the Taunus mountains and get acquainted with the history of Limes. 2,4 km loop walking road around the castle takes 45 minutes. After dinner occasion to drive to the wine towns Rüdesheim with visit of Drosselgasse. Overnight stay in Mainz.

Day 7: Mainz - Würzburg - Regensburg
You will leave Mainz and drive to Würzburg where you will view the fort Marienberg with museum Fürstenbaum. Continue travel to Regensburg. Dinner and overnight stay.

Day 8: Regensburg
As "Radasbona" (celtic), "Castra Regina" (Roman) and "reganespurc" (Bavarian) 2000-years-old Regensburg was very important up to the end of Middle Age. During a guided tour you will see lots of art historical sights. A Franconian evening will close the day. 

Day 9: Regensburg - Nuremberg - retour travel
Start retour travel via Nuremberg. There you will make a short city tour and  finish the tour.
